Butterfly House
The owner’s vision of three butterflies floating on a meadow served as the inspiration for this new home. Nestled on a flat knoll beyond a grove of mature oaks, the house expands to sweeping views of the valley & mountains beyond. Conceived for a working couple and their grown children, three living pavilions sport butterfly roofs which channel rainwater to be stored in three concrete cisterns. The main pavilion houses living areas, while the two side pavilions carve out office, family and sleeping spaces.
